All of the clutch plates are manufactured from high tempered American steel and each kit comes complete with a pre-set clutch pack height (stock spec) for easy installation.
1998 & LATER BIG TWIN AND TWIN CAM EXTRA PLATE KIT KIT CONSISTS OF 10 FRICTION PLATES, 9 STEELS, AND DIAPHRAGM SPRING
This kit includes a 10% stronger than stock diaphragm spring. Plates should be pre-soaked in the same fluid you will be using in the bike for about 10-15 minutes prior to installation. The type of fluids we recommend are Primary Lubricants or any HD petroleum based, nonsynthetic, primary oil, as light weight as possible. THE USE OF SYNTHETICS IS NOT RECOMMENDED AS THEY TEND TO CAUSE SLIPPAGE. Start with a friction plate and end with a friction plate. The OEM clutch will have 1 odd friction plate that will have a larger inside diameter to accommodate a judder spring and seat that will fit inside that 1 odd plate. Remove all those pieces, as you will NOT use them with this kit. This means all friction and steel plates. This kit has a premeasured stack height, so everything must be used. Do NOT mix the old and new plates together. These are just some helpful tips. For further technical assistance refer to your service manual.
